The entrance to a luxury residential space sets the tone for the entire experience of the space. It needs to be functional, visually appealing, and match the overall design theme of the space. However, when faced with challenges such as limited parking space and a wide entrance width, finding a suitable entrance solution can be daunting.

A luxury residential space in Thane demanded an entrance solution that exuded aesthetic appeal and matched the status of the space. With a requirement to cover a width of 12 meters and a height of 1.5 meters, the entrance solution needed to seamlessly blend with the beautifully designed space and align with its overall design theme.

After a thorough site survey, it was established that a single leaf track sliding gate or a swing gate would not be feasible due to parking space limitations. Therefore, a folding UNICOSlide gate was proposed as the ideal solution. The design chosen was a biparting 4 leaf sliding folding gate, with 4 leafs sliding and folding on one side and 4 leafs on the other side, allowing for a total clear opening of 12 meters while consuming only 1.5 meters of parking space. This innovative design ensured that the functionality of the gate was not compromised while maintaining the aesthetics of the space.

To further enhance the visual appeal of the gate, laser cut sheet metal designs were incorporated into the gate infill, adding a personalized touch to the solution. The collaboration between the A1UNICO team and the architect and structural design team was seamless, ensuring that the final solution was perfect in terms of both functionality and aesthetics.

One of the critical aspects of a gate’s performance is the quality of the gate accessories used. To retain the luxury status of the gate, high-quality components were chosen. This included 360° spinning electroplated gate wheels, 9 round hinges per side of the 4 leaf folding gate, heavy-duty top and bottom hinges with premium quality bearings for the primary leaf, and stainless steel mortise locks made in the UK. A stainless steel track was also provided to protect against corrosion, as the tracks would be subjected to high wear and tear due to the movement of 6 wheels simultaneously.
