One of the biggest challenges was creating a gate that was 4 meters tall operating on a cantilever mechanism while still being aesthetically pleasing and sustainable. The team tested a variety of designs and ultimately decided on a top-hung gate with a track mounted on the top frame. The design also had to incorporate minimal square sections that could easily be clad to match the surrounding wall, giving the gate a clean and continuous look. To ensure sustained operation in any weather condition and longevity, gate automation was an important consideration. After analyzing the frequency of operation and the operating environment, the team selected a Centurion D10 motor, which was capable of providing an effortless and smooth operation throughout the day. The D10’s ability to operate on a battery made it an excellent choice in case of power outages.

Transportation of the gate was another significant challenge. The sophisticated product design eliminated any welding or fabrication onsite, so the entire gate was made modular with two frames that could be easily fixed on site using nuts and bolts. This made installation a hassle-free experience for the customer.
