INTRODUCTION

When A1UNICO received the request to design and install an entrance gate for India’s tallest residential building in Mumbai, the team began with a site survey to understand the project’s requirements. It was found that the entrance gate needed to have a clear opening of more than 13 meters, with only 4.5 meters of parking space available. The gate also needed to have automation for the 13 meters opening and be visually appealing while offering security and safety to the residents.

DESIGNING THE ENTRANCE GATE

After analyzing the requirements and conducting a thorough site survey, A1UNICO suggested a 4 leaf telescopic gate solution. This design offered a modern and aesthetic look while also catering to the space limitations on the site. To balance the aesthetics and functionality, a telescopic mechanism was added for the gate’s operation.

Creating a gate with such specific requirements was a challenging task that had not been attempted before. A1UNICO had to consider various factors such as weight, durability, strength, and aesthetics while designing the gate. Steel was chosen as the construction material for its durability and strength, and a concealed design was created to ensure that the gate did not take up too much space and blended in seamlessly with the building’s architecture.

The weight of the gate was approximately 3.3 tons, and given this, a 4-ton motor was selected to provide high torque and low speed. The gate’s color was matched with the surrounding wall to ensure that it complemented the building’s architecture and blended in well with the environment.

ENSURING SAFETY

Safety was of utmost importance while designing the entrance gate for India’s tallest residential building. The gate needed to be safe and secure for the residents and visitors. A1UNICO installed various safety measures to ensure smooth and secure operation. IR beams, pillar light, and audio alarms were installed to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of the residents and visitors.

The gate was designed to operate at a speed of 20 meters/min, ensuring that the flow of traffic in and out of the building was smooth and efficient. A1UNICO ensured that the gate’s operation was smooth and reliable, minimizing the chances of any accidents or malfunctions.
